When Mila quit her job to travel the USA with her truck driving husband he was speechless. He is struggling to find any words three years later.
Mila had dreamt of seeing the world but hadn’t considered travelling the USA in a truck. When she packed in her job in 2021 and moved into her husband’s truck he was surprised. Very surprised. She is now a ‘passenger princess’ travelling up to 500 miles a day as Jermaine delivers refrigerators.
Mila enthused, “But I also never thought I’d be able to see nearly all 50 states in a year – so it’s been a dream come true.”. Jermaine commented, “Yay”. He seemed to lack the enthusiasm that she had.
She went on to say, “We still make sure we get out and do things – we always told ourselves we wouldn’t let it stop us having fun.” Jermaine added with a hollow leaden tone, “Yay, fun.”
Mila has said that trucking won’t be their life forever and have plans to settle down, buy a house and start a family when they’ve saved up enough. Jermaine parked up and wistfully murmered, “Space to move…”.
