They are trying to out do each other to show badly taken pictures that look like the aftermaths of poorly executed autopsies.
There is nothing local businesses like to do more than promote themselves on local Facebook groups. Nobody quite understands why some cafés prefer to post pictures of their favourite horror movie props and write, “Yum, yum. Get it while it’s hot”. Presumably because if people try to tackle them when it’s cooled a bit the congealed grease will make it difficult to get off the plate.
The strongest competition is from the cafés serving breakfasts. Who could fail to be tempted by these dingy plates of simmering cholesterol? Yummy!
The way that they have managed to get the reflection of the light off the grease is quite magical.
Not to be outdone, kebab shop owners have also taken up the challenge.
As it’s harder to get the light to reflect off the grease in a donner they have to be more creative. Leaving the wrapper with grease stains in the picture helps.
