The masked vigilante keeping the world safe from fare dodgers has been revealed. What next?
Now that he has put the heat on fare dodgers where will he focus next? Obviously fare dodging is the major scourge of our time laying waste to the inner cities and keeping children hungry and sapping the ability of communities to regenerate themselves.
Cynical types have suggested that he is only interested in focussing on trivial misdemeanours that are typically the domain of the poorer end of society.
Possibly he should now focus on higher profile issues such as MPs who take more than £100,000 of taxpayers money for “a third home” in their constituency such as, errr, Robert Jenrick. Other issues he could focus on is the links between Conservative donors, government officials and planning decisions. This should also be easy for him. He could start with his rushed approval of a £1 billion luxury housing development on Westferry Road, Isle of Dogs, as a favour to Richard Desmond. This speedy approval allowed the Conservative Party donor, businessman and former pornographer to save paying a council-imposed infrastructure levy of between £30 million and £50 million.
Suddenly the amounts of money involved in fare dodging seem pretty insignificant. We look forward to him tackling these more impactful dodgers.
