How the pay culture is ruining fine dining and culture

Excruciata Reees-Mog investigates how the woke culture of paying people for work is destroying fine dining and cultured living.

The highlight of any trip to Copenhagen used to be a meal at Noma’s. Their tasting menu was an absolute treat. I particularly partial to the shaved monkfish liver, walnut steamed tofu, and jumbo shrimp seasoned with several live black ants. My brother Jakey was a bit uncertain about the ants and flicked them onto my plate.

So it is with great sadness that I learnt that Noma is closing down. Most of the people working in the kitchens were interns who were working for free so that people such as me get a chance to fine dine. Following a campaign of whingeing about 16 hour days, whining about oppressive working conditions and complaining about doing menial tasks the owners were bullied into paying wages. Unfortunately the additional wage bill has resulted in the business failing.

It is disgusting that whining interns have destroyed this visionary restaurant. When I paid £650 for a meal it was an act of reverence. This is another example of how wokeness has made the world a poorer place.

The manor that I live in used to have fantastic formal gardens. From the records of the house I know there used to be a team of 5 gardners who looked after the garden and grounds. They must have done it out of love because the few shillings they got as salary wouldn’t have bought them much. Although people were more content back then. No yearning for gadgets, trainers and holidays. Now we only have two gardeners. Unfortunately the two of them don’t have time to manage the formal gardens and the other 10 acres. If it wasn’t for the ridiculous minimum wage nonsense we could employ more gardeners and have enough people to re-establish the formal gardens. The loser is our culture.
