In a good natured meeting Trump agreed to sign Louisiana over to the French. Claims that Louisiana isn’t much use to the USA get a hostile reaction.
During lengthy talks French President Emanuel Macron noticed that Trump’s attention was wandering after the first two minutes. To try and engage the anointed one’s attention Macron turned the conversation to Louisiana which used to be a French colony.
Macron thought that an insight into how situations change might help illuminate Trump’s thinking about current world situations. He did not expect Trump to start ranting about what an abominable pain Louisiana is. So needy with nothing much of interest. He was also unimpressed with how many of the people there didn’t even speak American and seemed so rude.
What he mentioned that he would like to be rid of the place Macron sensed an opportunity. He wondered aloud if Trump would like another Statue of Liberty coated in gold to go outside one of his hotels in exchange for Louisiana. Trump was ready to strike a deal. They sign the papers next week.
