Trump and Vance struggling with Harris

Even before she accepted the nomination to be the Democrat candidate Trump struggled to find a way to attack Harris. Now Vance is trying to join in and is just embarrassing himself.

In his distinctive style of mocking people rather than trying to form coherent sentencs explaining why they are ‘bad’, Trump has tried to establish some weird narrative that there is something not right about the way Harris laughs. There really isn’t much to say about that because it is just a little bit lame. In the pantheon of political put downs it just does not count.

He has tried other put downs such as “a gaffe machine”, “Lied Repeatedly” – but unable to define any lies, “a super liberal wack job that NOBODY wanted!” – who is getting a large amount of funding and support, “There was nobody meaner or more condescending” – do you need to be polite to rapists?, “quickly evaporated down to almost zero in the polls” – well you can see how desperate all his comments are. The polls are doing very nicely.

Now that Vance has managed to put aside his view that Trump is “America’s Hitler”, he is trying to match Trump for lame put downs. Apparently she likes cats and the greatest indictment of all, she doesn’t have children. Her step-daughter had plenty to say about that.

Even seasoned political commentators are struggling to make sense of the limp comments coming from Vance.

If they are in search of decent insults they could do worse than these examples…

“A shiver looking for a spine to run up”, Harold Wilson referring to Conservative Prime Minister Edward Heath.

“When Edwina Currie goes to the dentist, he needs the anaesthetic”, Labour health secretary Frank Dobson about Tory MP Edwina Currie.

“He has the backbone of a chocolate éclair.”, said by Theodore Roosevelt about President William McKinley.

With all these great political insults perhaps Trump and Vance can break out of their tedious whining about fake everything and embarrassingly lame comments.
