The future for Matt Hancok

Announcing his intention to step down as an MP at the next election it is time to reflect on his career and guess what the hypocritical oppounists with a blatant disinterest for truth and integrity.will do next.

The Right Honourable Matt Hancock has had an unerring ability to be wrong. In an interview on the Radio 4 Today programme on July 2014 regarding the policy protecting fracking in National Parks on but was unable to name a single village that supported the introduction of the controversial gas extraction practice..

In October 2014 he was forced to apologise after sharing a poem on Twitter declaring the Labour Party was “full of queers”.

As Minister of State for Energy he thought it was a good Idea to hiring a private jet to fly back to London from a climate conference in Aberdeen.

In February 2018 he launched his own mobile app to keep constituents abreast of his movements. Apple smartphone users feared their privacy had been compromised after responding to an on-screen prompt asking for access to their photo library. The app then appeared to gain access to the photo library whether the user denied access or not.

The covid-19 pandemic provided him with plenty of opportunities to put his abilities to work as Health Secretary. In May 2020 he was criticised by the UK Statistics Authority when it emerged that the target he had set for 100,000 daily Covid tests had been met only by changing the method of counting.

In October 2020 he was thoroughly tridiculed by Piers Morgan on ITV’s Good Morning Britain after applauding the government’s U-turn on free school meals in response to a pressure campaign led by footballer Marcus Rashford and others, despite his having voted against funding them. Nice one Matt.

Continuing to demonstrate his total disregard for the truth in December he was rebuked for saying that the UK’s fast vaccine approval was only possible because of Brexit, whereas EU legislation was in place at the time. So nothing to do with Brexit.

So demonstrating a talent for untruth, opportunism and hypocrisy under his belt, it was time for weightier stuff. In February 2021 a High Court judge ruled that he acted unlawfully earlier in the pandemic by handing out PPE contracts without publishing details on the recipients within 30 days, as he was obliged to do under Contract Award Notices protocol. We are now starting to find out where some of that money went, and it was not to provide usable PPE.

Continuing his theme of self-destruction, in June 2021 The Sun published CCTV stills from weeks before showing Mr Hancock embracing health department aide Ms Coladangelo, with whom he was having an extramarital affair, breaking his own Covid rules in the process.

In an uncharacteristic bout of integrity he resigned.

Then he had the brainwave of trying to redeem his reputation by becoming a contestant on “I’m a nonentity get me out of here”.

So what does the future hold? He seems to have blown the only job suited to hypocritical oppounists with a blatant disinterest for truth and integrity – a Concervative minister. With time on his hands perhaps he can help Baroness Michelle Mone figure out what happened to those missing millions.

Maybe his recent efforts to champion a parliamentary bill to support dyslexics will help redeem his reputation. I’m sure all the relatives of folk who died as a result of his policy of emptying hospitals of old people into care homes with no testing or control will wish him well.
