With the ditching of the £28 billion per year green investment pledge Labour Party chiefs are deeply embarrassed. They were certain that they had already ditched all their commitments. They have no idea how this one missed the bonfire of the policies. There will be an enquiry.
When Keir Starmer admitted that Labour were dropping their commitment to green policies he was angry that he had been put in that position by Labour Party chiefs. He had previously been assured that all the commitments had been rounded up and culled.
He has lambasted Labour Party policymakers and given them an ultimatum to ensure that all commitments are identified and cancelled on pain of getting a hard stare from him. He was asked if that counted as a commitment.
