Betting apps user plans to sue gambling companies

Gambling app user had seen all the adverts on TV for the bingo, casino and sport betting companies and knew what to expect. He was severely disappointed and plans to sue.

Raymond (50) had previously tried sex sites to find some company. Recently he had noticed that in nearly all the gambling app adverts there were happy people with lots of friends around them having a good time. One showed a bunch of friends at the barbers then all round someone’s house having a great time. Another showed a bunch of people in a field laughing and joking while playing various games. There was another with a man in a green suit and bowler hat wandering through a casino with lots of people partying and having fun.

Raymond particular liked the one with a car full of blokes travelling to a match together.

Suitably inspired he downloaded all the apps and started using them. He wasn’t suddenly surrounded by friendly people and joining him in with the fun. He even tried playing on the phone at the barbers. No one took any notice of him.

“I am very disappointed. It’s as if the adverts created an illusion that gambling was a socialable activity. I’m still lonely”. He said he felt he had a good case for misrepresentation in advertising.

Seriously….

There is a strong connection between loneliness and gambling addiction. Find out more.
