Two weeks ago Derek had no idea where Israel is and that there was a conflict that had been simmering for decades. Armed with his expert research (Hey Siri, where is Israel?) he is now ready to give his opinion.
Yesterday Derek Fletcher found out that there had been attacks in Israel and that the Israeli Defence Federation (or something like that) was massing at some border or other and possibly had tanks. He just guessed the last bit, but it seemed likely.
He immediately took to news organisation Facebook pages to share his insights. It took a while for him to get the hang of putting Hamas instead of hummus but he felt he had mastered Middle East politics and conflicts after a couple of hours.
He has now lost interest as it seems to be very complicated with various battles, treaties and other countries involved.
He is thinking of becoming an expert in the Donald Trump indictments next week.
