Following a ruling against the Home Office regarding providing information about deaths of asylum seekers in its facilities, the Home Office admitted it does not usually inform anyone including families. The explanation is that this is the most evil action they could think of.
Following proceedings taken out by Civil Fleet to force the Home Office to reveal information about deaths of asylum seekers, the Home Office revealed that they no longer inform anyone of deaths as they did previously. In 2022, 46 people died in Home Office accommodation which is over twice the 2021 total of 19.
The Home Office has said that when someone died in asylum accommodation it was not practice to locate or contact the next of kin. It was all about which was the most evil approach. Whether to inform family of a death, or leave them not knowing anything about what had happened to their loved ones who had vanished? On balance the latter seemed the cruelest approach. It also required much less effort on the part of the Home Office.
The Home Office is pretending that it is concerned about endangering the mental or physical health of relatives which is ridiculous. It doesn’t care about the mental or physical health of the asylum seekers who have a high rate of suicide, so they are unlikely to be bothered about other people who are not even in the country.
