Conspiracy theory fans’ guide to UK election candidates

With elections about to sweep the country, the discerning conspiracy theory aficionado has some credible candidate choices. Obviously the mainstream political parties hold no interest for flat earthers, anti-vaxers, climate deniers or Great Reset believers.

We take a look at some who might be worth considering voting for.

Lord Buckethead

This iconic figure has been brought to life by numerous people. Following legal action by the creator of this character, Lord Buckethead is portrayed by David Hughes. He has made numerous appearances at pivotal moments in British politics and stood for election several times. He has supported various causes such as:

  • Legalise the hunting of fox hunter
  • Nationalise pop singer Adele
  • The cessation of arms sales to Saudi Arabia so that Britain can purchase laser weaponry from Lord Buckethead
  • The abolition of the House of Lords, with the exception of Lord Buckethead

Lord Buckethead has occasionally stood for the Monster Raving Loony Party. See below.

Lord Biro

Unfortunately Dave Bishop, who was on the ballot for several elections under the name ‘Lord Biro’. died in 2022. He advocated various causes such as Ban Builders Bums, Bono for Pope and Make Clifton Great Again. In 2014 he managed to win when he beat the Liberal Democrats in a Nottingham by-election.

Count Binface

He first came to public attention in the 2019 election where he was on the Oxbridge and Ruislip ballot with Boris Johnson.

Most recently he came 8th out of 18 candidates in the 2022 Oxbridge and Ruislip by-election caused by

Policies include:

  • Inflation on croissants (and other products) needs fixing immediately
  • They’ve made a mockery of politics. Now it’s our turn
  • bringing back Ceefax, renaming London Bridge after Phoebe Waller, giving royal palaces to the homeless
  • I WILL move the hand dryer in the gents’ urinals at the Crown & Treaty, Uxbridge to a more sensible position

Monster Raving Loony Party

This noble party first entered British politics under the leadership of Screaming Lord Sutch, 3rd Earl of Harrow, in 1982. They have been on the ballot of many elections. In May 2023 local elections They they fielded 10 candidates. It is likely they will be standing in many constituencies in the 2024 general election.

Their policies include:

  • We will reduce inflation by giving everyone free pins
  • To make trains safer, we will fit them all with cushions on the front
  • We will combat corruption in public life by taking part in it openly, we will introduce the Board of Bribery who will set standardised rates?. for the many not just the few
  • We propose to prevent identity theft instantly by calling everyone Chris
  • Redundant Red Phones boxes will be converted to bijou accommodation to ease the housing shortage
