School in Mansfield revises guidance for World Book Day

A school in Nottinghamshire has revised the costume guidance for World Book Day.

At the St Vitus School for Dancing some children turned up for World Book Day in costumes that some parents and a few teachers thought were inappropriate. The headmistress, Sue Yerarsoff, was very pleased with the quality of the costumes and the skill and imagination that went in to them.

However, she has agreed that in future costumes must be restricted to characters from children’s books.
