Pierce Brosnan exhibition. Gallery victim of a scam?

Pierce Brosnan had involved his lawyers over advertising for an exhibition of his work. The gallery thought they had been dealing with his agent. Who was being scammed?

What appeared to be a scam by the SMS Gallery in Long Eaton near Nottingham seems likely to be a scam of a different nature.

Pierce Brosnan had his lawyers contact the gallery to tell them to stop advertising that he was exhibiting his work there. There was no exhibition. The gallery had sold tickets ranging in price from £150 to attend, up to £500 to meet the artist.

Since being contacted the gallery has put out a statement. The unnamed organiser said that she believed she had been talking to Pierce Brosnan despite the star’s own statement to the contrary. She explained that they had paid towards the supposed shipping of the artwork.

Anyone who had purchased a ticket would be able to get a refund on request.
