A UK art gallery is selling VIP tickets for £500 to meet Mr Brosnan at the exhibition of his work in December. This is news to Pierce Brosnan who knows nothing about it.
The SMS gallery in Long Eaton near Nottingham UK styles itself as “unique concept art gallery”. On their website (30 October 2023) they are advertising an exhibition of paintings by Pierce Brosnan with various packages. There is the standard admission fee of £150, or the VIP Experience where art lovers get to meet Mr Brosnan.
Un case there is any doubt over the identity of the artist, they refer to his acting roles in numerous James Bond films.
Mr Brosnan has become aware of this and has released a statement.
“I will not be exhibiting my artwork at the SMS Art Gallery in Nottingham in December 2023. Reports that the SMS Art Gallery has been engaged to host an exhibition are false. My attorney has contacted the gallery and sent a cease and desist letter. I look forward to having an exhibition in the UK in the future and, when the time comes, you will hear from me.”

While researching this story is was noticed that all their web pages have “© 2035 by Remo Art Gallery” at the bottom of the pages. A good tip for any gallery that wants to create the impression of uniqueness, don’t make it look like you have ripped off somebody else’s web site. And get the year right.
