Since the 1990s the National Rifle Association and the gun industry have promoted guns as the working men’s, and women’s, protection against tyrannical governments. What better than having a worthy higher cause to make you feel all warm and cosy while lovingly polishing your barrels.
they had lived under the tyranny of King George and they wanted to make sure that these free people in this new country would never be subjugated again.
It seems strange that now there is a government that is ignoring and undermining the constitution, the courts, Congress, the rights of states, ignoring citizens rights, coercing businesses to change their practices and extorting money from businesses, the NRA and the gun lovers seem to have forgotten their enthusiasm for protecting freedom.
Of course everyone knew that regular gun-totting yeehas could not careless about protecting freedom. It turns out that the only freedom they were ever interested in was the one to buy more guns to slobber over. Surely the NRA were not just trotting out meaningless rubbish just to keep the gun businesses happy so they kept pumping money into the NRA?
Our guns are in our hands for people like those in government right now that think they wanna go tyrannical on us, we’ve got something for ‘em.
