Obvious causes and solutions to climate change have led to some very red faces in the climate change community. Increased floods? Clear leaves from drains.
Renowned Norwegian scientist Professor Thun Dercloud of the Hurdigurdy Institute of Climate Science has called for a fundamental rethink around climate science. He proposes a re-examination of the conclusions, consequences and possible solutions.
Flooding
This has been triggered by a Facebook post by the Reform group in Southampton who challenged the Idea that increase flooding in the UK is a result of climate change. It was pointed out that blocked road drains were the most likely cause of flooding.

There appears to be a correlation between the amount of money spent by local councils on drain cleaning and the incidents of flooding. The source of the data was a pizza delivery driver called Dave who didn’t have any evidence but assured everyone that it was obvious.
Climate Changes
Other climate scientists have been shocked to the core on learning from Facebook posters that the climate has changed over the lifetime of the planet. Dr Ben Dover was startled to learn that the UK had an ice age approximately 20,000 years ago and that some areas are still undergoing an uplift due to the melting of the ice mass. This uplift is affecting the sea levels in some coastal areas. Dr Dover admitted that if he’d known about this before he certainly would have included it in his climate modelling systems.
Plymouth Rock and the rising sea level
Marine scientist ls are stumped by the enigma that is the Plymouth Rock. The legendary stone that the pilgrims stepped onto as they disembarked from the Mayflower on to the new continent in 1620. Despite all their data regarding the rising sea level from melting glaciers and polar ice, the Plymouth Rock remains stubbornly unsubmerged. Dr Philip E Flopperty of the Flipper Institute is leading a team to understand the Plymouth Rock enigma and why it is still above water despite numerous relocations.
