The Reform led county council has solved all its funding challenges and is set to spend £75,000 on flags. Great news for flag fans!
The Nottinghamshire County Council (NCC) leader Mick Barton said displaying the flags had the potential to “strengthen community spirit”. At £75,000 to put up to put up 150 union jack flags this is great value – £500 per flag.
An NCC spokesman enthused that this was a, “Great way to celebrate the progress on dealing with all the outstanding essential maintenance on schools, filling all the potholes, fully funding all adult and children social service needs, providing sufficient shelter for all the homeless including veterans, supporting women’s refuges (because the safety of women and children is important) and revamped the shitty Sherwood Forest visitors centre”.
