In a recent interview Liz Truss brands the lettuce comparison as puerile. The lettuce has kept quiet, until now…
In the interview with Irish broadcaster RTÉ on Monday Truss was asked about the live stream of the lettuce to see if it would last longer than she did. Truss was not impressed and remarked “I don’t think it was particularly funny, I think it’s puerile”.
In a further comment that was delivered with no irony whatsoever, Truss added “I think the level of understanding of economic ideas in the media and the ability to explain them is very poor indeed”. We checked with an expert who clarified that it was Truss and Quasi Coathanger who last crashed the economy. Who was this expert?
Lenny the lettuce speaks out
In the light of his economic expertise Lenny is now an Associate Professor at the Wellingborough School of Economics.
“She has a point. The comparison was a bit puerile. Honestly, I do have some self respect. Being in the same sentence as that imbecile is demeaning”.
Since that high profile media circus Lenny has quietly moved on. He feels that Truss should also move on. She needs to capitalise on what she is good at, he offered. “Perhaps she should practice sticking crayons up her nose”.
