Sadiq Khan, Mayor of London, received a knighthood in the New Year’s honours. GB News and the rest of the gammon munching moanerati went into angergasms.
GB News and the right wing anger monkeys who make up their fan base hate Sadiq Khan. Not only is he not white but he is also a Muslim.
They are incandescent with indignation that he has been made a knight. In several pieces they have whined about him being “rewarded for failure“, and that he has “ruined this capital city that was once great“, he has also been called a “sanctimonious little twit“. One commented, “I don’t know what he’s been knighted for. I don’t know what he’s done to merit this honour, because crime is going up in London, he’s been a terrible Mayor,”
Meanwhile the city carries on. Buses carry passengers, bins get emptied, streets get cleaned, parks get looked after and all the things needed to keep a city functioning carry on happening. So not ruined really.
Of course they prefer not to attack him using racist and islamophobic language, so they attack him using proxy criticisms that they would never have bothered with for his predecessor. The gammonarti have got three favourite themes they like to use when they are whining about Khan.
Knife crime
Right wing media and gammon social media users like to constantly try to imply that Khan is personally responsible for the levels of knife crime in London. While it has been a bit higher at times during his time as Mayor, it was still high during the time that Boris Johnson was Mayor. The difference is that nobody was blaming Johnson for it. It is also important to point out that Khan is not a policeman and he is not encouraging the attacks. He launched a knife crime initiative in 2017.
ULEZ
The gammon narrative is that Khan hates car drivers. Meanwhile the point of ULEZ is air quality and the Conservative government required Khan to implement it.
Londonistan
This is one of the more blatantly ridiculous criticisms; that he is single handedly replacing the population with Muslims. This is one of the dumber tropes, and if you need someone to dismantle it for you then you need a DIY trepanning kit.
