Weekends have often been a bit dull. Now with many options such as shouting at hotels or putting up flags it is hard to decide what to do.
Apart from watching the match on the TV, the weekends have often been very uneventful. Most weekends have been spent trying to appear busy to avoid having to visit IKEA or the garden centre. Barry Sidal (48) now has lots of options.
This weekend he has various choices. Going to shout at a hotel seems like a good option. Some friends of his are going to stick flags to lampposts, although climbing up and down ladders sounds like too much work. A few blokes are going to be painting roundabouts which might be a possibility.
His wife suggested he could do something that would actually benefit the community and the country. Litter picking? Helping at the church? Fixing the community centre? None of those appealled to Sidal, too much effort and commitment. The British Legion had put a callout for people to help sell poppies. Sidal could not be bothered with that.
