UK tourist angry at lack of authentic Baltis in India

A British tourist is traumatised by his failure to find a traditional Birmingham Balti in India. Airline refuses to pay compensation.

Eric Aisheous (43) saved up for the trip of a lifetime with a couple of mates. Speaking from his house in Sparkhill near Birmingham, Eric (Leo) said things started to go wrong before the flight out. “I’d arranged to meet my mates at the check in but they phoned and said that the parking was terrible and they wouldn’t make it. I was gutted. I’d paid a lot for those tickets”.

When asked why he’d wanted to go to India he said “I love a curry me. So going to India would be like holidaying in the world’s largest Curry House”.

However he was very disappointed when he couldn’t find an authentic Balti anywhere. “There was nothing that tasted anything like a Birmingham Balti”. Trying to make the best of it he tried looking for chicken tikka masala or a good old-fashioned vindaloo. “It’s like they’ve never heard of curry house grub. Their naan bread’s weird. They can’t afford microwaves and cook them in a weird oven”.

Thoroughly disillusioned he complained to the airline about India having the wrong kind of curries. They released a statement saying they won’t be paying compensation.
