Following the revelations that meter installers have broken into people’s homes to install pre-payment meters, installers now trained to target blind customers.
It has been embarrassing for British Gas that installers working for them to install pre payment meters have been spotted going into houses that don’t have gas meters, have severely disabled occupants, going into teenage girls’ bedrooms, houses where the meter is outside and deaf occupants who were in the house at the time.
Targeting blind customers is a lot less hassle as they can’t see the engineers.
