Following the news that Starmer is removing a painting of Thatcher, a reliable source has announced the replacement painting. More evil and more hated.
Since Gordon Brown commissioned the portrait of Margaret Thatcher it has hung in a study since 2009. Apparently it was put there to remind Gordon Brown that whatever faults he might have had he was not as evil as Thatcher. As the memory of Thatcher has faded, her power to personify malignant disregard has diminished.
Apparently a portrait of a more recent Tory Prime Minister will take its place. The portrait of Liz Truss will help to remind Starmer what pure incompetence looks like, and help him and others avoid it.
