Another clitoris found

Giving up on the ability of male colleagues to find a clitoris, a PhD student and her female colleagues pushed them aside and showed them how to do it properly.

If you want to skip to the money shot look for the bits labelled HC in the picture below.

Intrepid clitoral investigators at the University of Adelaide were not convinced that male colleagues had correctly investigated the anatomy of lady snakes. There was something that they had just dismissed as a scent gland, but science blokes have form for overlooking the existence of clitorises – but are very good at finding knobs.

Snake clitoris

Megan Folwell, Kate Sanders, Patricia Brennan and Jenna Crowe-Riddell took the opportunity to look at nine different species of snakes in detail. A bit of histology (small slices of tissue dipped in dyes to make them look pretty), and some basic paying attention yielded results. They found clitorises, correctly referred to as hemiclitores.

This comes after recent news that the human clitoris has more nerves than the cow.
