After promising to resign, Nadine Dorries has decided not to resign until she has been shown the report recommending that she shouldn’t be elevated to the House of Lords.
In his honours list Boris “call that a party!” Johnson had nominated Nadders for a peerage. After his list of nominations returned from the House of Lords Appointments Commission her name was no longer on it.
Nadders has repeatedly claimed that she as been discriminated against because she is working class. In November 2021 she was complaining to The Express. As Culture Secretary she repeatedly attacked the BBC for perceived bias against working class people. A true working class champion.
Ironically, many true working class champions have declined these sorts of honours as meaningless tokens from a broken elite who will be the first against the wall when the glorious revolution comes. People who have put principles before patronage include Rodney Bickerstaffe, Albert Booth, Michael Foot, John Freeman, Ray Gunter, Margaret Herbison, Jack Jones, Norman Willis and many more.
The truth is that she is really not very clever and allows ridiculous tripe to come out of her mouth and dribble down her chin. Her embarrassing outbursts in the enquiry into the privitisation of Channel 5 where she, as Culture Secretary, would be expected to understand how Channel 5 works, demonstrated total ignorance. Over several days she blundered incompetently through a mire of her own ignorance.
She has an impressive record of stupidity such as false claims about paid actors in a reality TV show, false claims about Keir Starmer and grooming gangs, claiming the Liverpool Echo had been spreading fake news when the story had actually originated from her. Of course as she is a conduit of God perhaps she thinks she is infallible.
Bottom line is that she is of no particular merit except being one of Boris’s buddies.
