As a first step towards independence Plaid Cymru are campaigning for Wales to have its own time zone. Cymru Unified National Time.
For about 185 years Wales has been shackled by the tyranny of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) with no consultation or opportunity to vote on it. The first imposition was by the Great Western Railway (GWR) in November 1840 who brought in Railway Time. Prior to this each town
This was later sealed into law by the Statutes (Definition of Time) Act of 1880. Again, nobody in Wales was consulted by this colonialist outrage. Going by actual time as given by independent and meaningful measures of time such as sundials the furthest reaches of west and north Wales, Pembrokeshire and Gwynedd, are as much as 20 minutes behind London.
To correct this historic wrong Plaid Cymru are campaigning to bring in Cymru Unified National Time (CUNT). Politicians are loudly calling out for CUNT. This will be 30 minutes behind GMT.
At a recent rally in London protesters were marching on Whitehall chanting “What do we want? CUNT!. When do we want it? Now!’
