The first hint that there might be a shred of integrity in the MAGA sect. One of the rioters who stormed the Capitol rejects Trump’s pardon. She wants no part of rewriting history.
One of Trump’s first actions when taking office was to sign an Executive Order pardoning 1500 people who attacked the Capitol Building in an attempt to stop the ratification of the election result that affirmed Joe Biden as the previous President.

One of the convicted rioters, 71-year-old Pamela Hemphill from Boise Idaho has rejected her pardon.Henphill, once nicknamed “the MAGA Granny”, told a reporter from the Idaho Statesman that, “Accepting the pardon would be an insult to the Capitol Police officers, to the rule of law, to our nation”.
“I don’t want to be a part of their trying to rewrite what happened that day”
Hemphill is also conscious that most people in the MAGA sect as well as Trump are trying to rewrite history. She added, “The J6 criminals are trying to rewrite history by saying that it was not a riot; it wasn’t an insurrection. I don’t want to be a part of their trying to rewrite what happened that day.”
The mob had been encouraged to think that the previous election was illegitimate and had been ‘stolen’ in some way. This was the rhetoric of Trump and most of his team. Since the trials the MAGA alternative reality is that the January 6th riot and invasion was either a visit that got misrepresented, or it was staged by the FBI to discredit Trump. Of course MAGA sect members can not grasp the inconsistentencies of believing all the different versions. They don’t care.
