These leads have been due to Starmer just not being Boris Johnson or Liz Truss. Suggestions that it might help to have some tangible policies just in case have been met with ridicule.

A few bland statements on things like antisocial behaviour with no details on delivery is all they have come up with. They spent more time picking the font for the meme slagging off Rishi Sunak. A strategist laughed at the idea of having any policies. “No one can remember them even when they are written down and stuffed through letterboxes”.
