Children around the world have been opening their presents and many have been upset about what they have found. Accusations of bias against children from poor families are being made.
Yesterday children around the world woke up excitedly to see what presents Santa Claus had left for them. They all had high expectations based on the movies and adverts they had seen. There were many who were very disappointed.
Many from poor families awoke to find very few presents. There were even ones from destitute families who had no presents at all. There has been an angry outcry that Santa has been favouring children from affluent families with more and better toys.
One indignant mother has called for an enquiry, “It’s just not right. He gives more to those who already have plenty. If he had an ounce of compassion he would give the best presents to the children most in need.” Another commented, “Surprise surprise. He is reinforcing capitalist oppression and contributing to concentrating wealth into the hands of the privileged few”.
As Santa reputedly only brings presents for those children who have been good, the children from poor families have been left puzzled trying to work out what they have done wrong. A spokesperson calling for an enquiry called out, “Their only crime is to be born in to poor families”.
