The returning astronauts recount their ordeal but realise it could have been worse. At least they weren’t in Cleveland or Coventry.
Astronauts Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore safely splashed down after an unexpected 9 month stint on the International Space Station. They had originally been scheduled to stay on the station for 8 days, however technical concerns over the safety of the Boeing craft that was to return them delayed their return.
Speaking to reporters after her safe return Williams told them about how it was cramped, smelly and not much fun, however “It was nowhere near as bad as spending a day in Cleveland or Coventry. Total dumps”. Her colleague Wilmore agreed, “If I had a choice between being locked up in a small tin can in space for 9 months or half a day in Coventry,, the tin can wins”.
