When Carlson criticised Fox News for peddling misinformation a lot of coffee got snorted out of a lot of noses.
Carlson appeared on Steve Bannon’s War Room podcast on Monday.

During his conversation with Bannon he said, “What they are doing is what they always do, which is just turning up the propaganda hose to full blast and just trying to knock elderly Fox viewers off their feet and make them subject to more wars”. He went on to talk about various ‘warmongers’ who were encouraging Trump to get involved with Israel’s hostilities aimed at Iran. He went on to name Fox News anchors Sean Hannity and Mark Levin, the network’s owner, Rupert Murdoch, as well as billionaire Republican donors, Ike Perlmutter and Miriam Adelson.
Carlson left his post as one of the leading presenters on Fox News in 2023 where he was happiest spreading conspiracy theories on topics such as demographic replacement, COVID-19, the January 6 United States Capitol attack, and Ukrainian bioweapons. Carlson was among the hosts named in the Dominion Voting Systems vs. Fox News Network defamation lawsuit for broadcasting false statements about the company’s voting machines. This action cost Fox News $787.5 million. While Fox News gave no explanation for the dismissal of Carlson, the timing of the decision suggests that Fox News wanted to distance itself from Carlson’s appetite for lying.
Carlson accusing Fox News created a level of irony that was measurable on the Richter Scale and makes him a strong contender for the 2025 Irony Award. He has strong competition from as Hector Luis Valdes Cocho. A Cuban activist who was a very vocal supporter of Trump who was picked up by ICE and locked up in a detention centre.
