Since his brief flirtation with “celebrity” Declan Doyle has struggled to capture attention. A clumsy attempt to use his daughter to gain attention for himself has backfired.
If you’ve never heard of him you are not alone. He was on a programme called Ex On The Beach in 2022. Never seen it? You are in good company. At its peak 99.5% of the UK population weren’t watching it.
While on holiday with his 11 year old daughter in the Dominican Republic, hotel staff challenged him to prove their relationship. The hotel manager said “she’s an underage girl with a man it’s odd and we look like a couple and we don’t look alike”
Rather than being grateful that the hotel was taking responsible safeguarding measures with respect to minors, he took it as a personal slight on him.
After complaining to the travel agent, Tui, they moved him to another hotel. So Tui, by their validation of his self obsessed whining, have effectively discouraged their client hotels from engaging in responsible safeguarding checks.
Declan obviously posted about it on Instagram, and posts about it appeared on Facebook. Most took the view that he was being a tool and that the hotel did exactly the right thing.
Numerous tabloids were incapable of seeing the bigger picture and just carried his whining quotes.
