Visitor to the Louvre has intimate moment with the Mona Lisa and only 98 other people. She captures the moment for posterity.
Fine art connoisseur Bet Ingshoppe (28) saved up for a year to make a spiritual journey to the Louvre in Paris to bond with Leonardo da Vinci’s masterpiece. She took her place in the crowds slowly shuffling through the Louvre gallery towards the largest room in the Louvre, the Salle des États.
Making sure not to waste any time admiring the other remarkable paintings in the room, such as The Wedding Feast at Cana by Veronese, everybody made straight for the Mona Lisa. Ingshoppe ended up behind eight other people in the crowd.
From her vantage point she could just about see the top of the picture frame of the da Vinci masterpiece. It was a spiritual moment for her. Along with everyone else she held her phone up above her and took loads of photos. She got a very good picture of the Mona Lisa on the screen of one of the other phones in front of her. It was a special life changing moment for her.
