House with front and garden covered in England flags

Trick or treat hot tips

Avoid houses with flags. All their dole money has been spent on TEMU.

If you are taking to the streets with your excited children who want to try their hand at trick or treating a few simple tips will help reduce disappointment.

Flags

Houses and streets with lots of flags are a good indicator that the house occupants are on benefits. All their money will have been wasted buying flags and they won’t have any left to buy sweets.

Reform or Green Party posters

While it seems unlikely to put these two together, they will both prove disappointing although for different reasons.

Reform supporters are stuck in the past and will justify their stinginess by banging on about how they never had trick or treating when they were young.

Green Party supporters will object to the rampant consumerism and conspicuous consumption implicit in the provision of sweets.

No hawkers or circulars

These people really do want to be left alone. Unfortunately they don’t realise that almost nobody alive today knows what a hawker is. No it doesn’t involve hawks.
