A professional bellend has been locked up, but he is undaunted. At least he will not be bothering the lifeboats for a while.
Stuart Hill (82) has a long career of being a delusional bellend. In a recent career move he has become a Sovereign campaigner. He has fines at Kirkwall Sheriff Court in 2017 relating to various offences including vandalism and road traffic offences. Hill has claimed the court had “no authority” over him, describing it as a “legal fiction”. Exasperated with Hill’s failure to sign any court documents and engage with the order for 75 hours of unpaid work in lieu of the fine payment, the ‘legal fiction’ ordered Hill to 3 months imprisonment.
Sheriff Ian Cruickshank of Lerwick Sheriff Court commented that he did not want to send an 82-year-old man to jail, however Hill’s actions had left him with no other Prior to Wednesday’s court appearance Hill, in the guise of the ‘Sovereign Nation of Shetland’ had issued two invoices to Sheriff Cruickshank for £132,00 each.
Captain Calamity
Hill has a long career of being a total bellend. Prior to his recent incarnation as a Sovereign Citizen, Hill had previously come to the attention of the public and the lifeboat services in a series of disastrous sea ‘voyages’ which required him to be rescued multiple times.
In 2001 he set sail from Suffolk on a trip around the UK. Media reports dubbed him “Captain Calamity” when Hill caused five lifeboat launches and two rescue helicopter call-outs. His choice of vessel was a major factor. A 15-foot dinghyfashioned from a converted rowing boat with a sail taken] from a windsurfing board.
Undaunted by his lack of skill, equipment and judgement he set out on another sea voyage attempt in September 2008. Hill had to be rescued again from the seas of Shetland. He had ventured out in a home made plywood boat, described as “ramshackle” and a “floating wardrobe”. He was without a radio or lifejacket in very poor weather conditions which led to the boat being swamped by a heavy sea.
