While she did well at the Brit Awards, at the ARNIE award ceremony she received a wooden spoon. Not so good.
Charli XCX received five awards at the Brits including album and song of the year as well as the previously announced songwriter award. In her artist of the year acceptance speech, Charli thanked those that helped her hit “Brat” album come to life, including producers AG Cook and Finn Keane as well as her fiancé and collaborator George Daniel.
In another award ceremony for the Academy of Roman Numerals In Entertainment (ARNIE) she only received a wooden spoon. Spokesperson, Ameeli Bugg, announced that XCX was included in the list of candidates for her use of Roman Numerals in her name.
Unfortunately her Roman Numeral name was complete gibberish and as far as anyone could tell was equivalent to -80. Bugg has sent her the wooden spoon for trying along with the suggestion that if she changes her name to XXC or CXX she would get an award.
XCX was reported to be disappointed by not winning but has accepted the wooden spoon. A statement from XCX has been made up, “I am grateful to be considered for an award. They didn’t do Latin at my school so it is just a rookie error”.
