Having taken inspiration from the more progressive elements of Middle Eastern society the Republicans have now appointed an advisor – Ali Belhadj.
In most Republican states they have laid the ground work to ostracise anyone who doesn’t look and think like them such as the LGBTQ community and blacks. In Florida schools have removed all books that aren’t on the reading list which makes it easier to limit what children can learn. Now that they have removed women’s choices for abortion in some states as well as removing funding for contraception to prevent pregnancy the best estimates are that the Republicans have managed to take society back to the early 20th century. They can do much better.
push this country backward
They have also made good progress in other areas of misogyny through the evangelical churches where women get taught that their men come first, are always right and must be pandered to. They have even gaslighted some women to run these study classes to other women. “Society has become far too feminised which is why we embrace a neanderthal stereotype of masculinity”.
The biggest challenge to the far right agenda is intelligence. From a nascent anti-vaccine movement spearheaded by people such as Robert Kennedy Jnr and a load of other rich white people, the far right is driving a general science sceptic campaign. A sort of Christian Fundamentalism that avoids anything to do with what’s in The Bible. In fact all books are suspect.
Some think they are now ready to start planning the final push for going totally Medieval. To that end they are recruiting Mamunul Haq, as soon as they can get him out of prison in Algeria. He has the unique grasp of setting an agenda of removing all women’s rights and treating them as objects, brutalising gay and lesbian people, and destroying education. The fact that he’s not Christian isn’t a concern. Neither are they. He has been in touch and is impressed with what they have achieved. “It takes a while to undermine civilization”.
When asked why they wanted to control women’s fertility, control how other people live, control what people think the answer was “it’s all about freedom and making America great again. With the help of Ali Belhadj we can push this country backward”.
Are they not worried he might overthrow the government? It is one of his things. “That’s okay. We’ve already got that in hand”.
Didn’t it matter that he isn’t American? “Was Hitler German? No. Germany could see what was in his heart and embraced him”.
