Family planning how to survive Mansion Tax

Cutting back on ski trips, lattes and smashed avocados are top of the list. Lee 30p Anderson is helping with meal plans.

All across the UK families in mansions are struggling to plan their survival after the mansion tax comes in. The Montmorency family are no different to many others trying to figure out how they are going to survive. With all their children in public schools they have had to tighten their belts already when the fees increased following the imposition of VAT on the schoola.

Among the necessities they had to cut back was the number of ski trips Previously they had enjoyed two or three ski trips a year to places like Gstaad in Switzerland and Aspen Colorado. Cutting back to just one trip a year was a challenge but they made the ultimate sacrifice. They also cut back on gardenèrs, leaving then with only three.

Wirh their house worth over £5 million they will certainly be hit by the Mansion Tax. They are having conversations over which of the numerous streaming services they are subscribed to they are happy to cancel. Currently Netflix is one of the contenders for cancellation.

There’s a lot of talk regarding avocados. Currently they grow their own in their own heated greenhouse for an all year round supply. To make savings they are considering ditching the greenhouse and buying them from Waitrose instead. They won’t be as tasty as home grown ones but at least they will still have smashed avocados on toast every day.

They have also decided that they will have to substitute the coffee they use for their lattes. The Black Ivory Coffee they currently use costs about £2300 a kilo so they are planning to downgrade to something a little cheaper.

If things get really bad they have contacted Lee Anderson who claims that it’s possible to make meals for 30p a helping.
