The recent furore over the use of Irish accents for the short, nomadic, pre-civilisation people called harfoots in the Amazon series has been reignited.
In the Amazon series that is set one thousand years before the Lord of the Rings, the Irish accents used for the nomadic people has been characterised as lazy sterotyping. This has caused offence, mostly by bored Social Media users with not much to do.

Debbie Branson from Coseley has given a statement that she is offended that there are no characters in the epic that have Black Country accents.
“Arm annoyed that they ay no’one spaking wirra Black Country accen’.”
The show producers, Amazon Prime, were approached for a statement about the lack of representation of Black Country voices in this and other shows. We were asked to ringing their customer service number.
