Morgan has railed against Hopkins for her odious comments about Kate Garraway’s bereavement. He is incandescent when she has made the whole story about her when he wanted to make it about him. He is annoyed that Hopkins has stolen his ‘national creep’ mantle.
Kate Garraway’s husband, Derek Draper, died on the 5th January, and she is obviously grieving. When interviewed she is obviously focused on her loss. As grief is such a powerful emotion, and for a certain segment of the media, a very compelling narrative this annoys people like Hopkins and Morgan who like everything to be about them.
Hopkins is a car crash who used to be a journalist and now has reinvented herself as a far-right shit poster. She will just say anything to annoy and outrage people. So taking a pop at Garraway by mocking her by refering to her having a book and documentary out about her “life after Derek” (there is no book or documentary), Hopkins made Garraway’s grief all about her.
Morgan is annoyed that Hopkins has made Garraway’s grief all about her when he wanted to come up with something odious to say to make it all about him. He has been left with no option but to join in the outrage against Hopkins.
Spare a thought for Hopkins. She used to be relevant but is now just the drunken old crone throwing bile about on whatever irrelevant platform she is on.
