The first hint of sunshine brings out the drivers who rush to be the first to get stuck on a beach.
This first attempt at Bournemouth on Wednesday is a valiant effort. The driver of the black Mercedes Benz car left it on the beach after being unable to drive it off the soft sand. This is a frequent problem in this area with drivers being too stingy to pay for car parking.
As there was no risk of the car getting flooded by the rising tide, this car owner only gets the Pillock – third class award.
Cllr Richard Herrett of Bournemouth, Christchurch and Pools Council, said: “Unauthorised vehicles are strictly prohibited from driving onto the beach along the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) coastline”. He went on to mention, “… there are plenty of car parks conveniently located across the three towns and close to the beaches.”
