Tis the time of year when the Christmas adverts grace our screens and sad people get annoyed about trivial shit. One advertiser has really triggered the gammon munching moanerati with a black Mrs Claus.
With wearisome predictability a certain segment of the community get their Christmas rage-on by looking for trivial shit to get their angergasms. This year Boots, known for their UK high street shops supplying mostly beauty and health products, have given them their cause.
Does anyone need to remind them that Santa Claus is not real.(apologies to anyone who didn’t know), and in the traditional tales there is no Mrs Claus?
This has triggered the racists who get upset about black faces in TV adverts. In the Facebook post launching the advert on the Boots page many of the responses were predictable.
Always shopped at Boots – but never again
It’s more than ‘just an advert’. It’s what it stands for. You shop there all you like. I won’t. Simple
Cannot believe they have forgotten their core customers, this is not a good representation of diversity and multiculturalism
Go woke – Go broke
That’s it we used to do a ‘big spend’ in Boots every Christmas, perfume, aftershave, box sets etc – never again it’ll be Superdrug now !
On the up side…
Many were supportive….
Well done to whoever came up with this great advert. Now I can shop in Boots knowing that I don’t have to mix with the Daily Mail reading, GB news watching, intellectually challenged that are commenting here.
A lot of these replies showcase exactly why I am glad they made this advert. Really brings out the bigoted and small minded.
Love your Christmas ad!
Really pleased to see all the comments about boycotting Boots. It’ll be great to be able to shop there and not run into that type of person. If memory serves, they’re also boycotting Tesco and Sainsbury’s due to being upset at their previous Xmas adverts. They’re SO fragile.
Great ad & this is coming from someone who really doesn’t like Christmas. Love Adjoa, she’s a fabulous actress, brilliant in everything she does
